The IRCF works with a wide variety of donors and partners to best fulfill its role. These range from government agencies to non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. While the IRCF is directly concerned with the conservation of endangered reptiles, its overall mission is to provide operational support and coordination to a wide range of private and public individuals working towards conservation goals. We strive to be responsive to the needs of emergency situations, such as disaster relief, while at the same time working towards long-term solutions for the benefit of reptiles and their habitat as well as the people with whom they share their environment.

The IRCF directs 94% of "Project Specific" contributions to the project areas where they are most urgently needed, unless otherwise directed by the contributor. We are committed to maintaining an extremely low overhead restricted to administrative costs, thereby allowing the majority of collected funds to be applied to conservation needs. We believe in utilizing our network of professional and personal contacts to help perform tasks that might otherwise be extremely costly. This enables us to provide the services of an organizations two to three times our size. The projects supported by the IRCF understand that we expect accountability for all funding that they receive, so that we in turn can be directly accountable to our donors. The IRCF has a proven track record of being extremely cost conscious and fiscally responsible while maintaining aggressive project goals. A few of the items currently in need of funding are listed Below:
  • Land acquisition for a reserve for the Blue Iguana in Grand Cayman.
  • Fund critical research projects necessary to save species and their habitat.
  • Educational materials to expand conservation awareness programs in communities in or near endangered habitat.
  • Training programs for local citizens to participate in research projects including exchange programs for personnel involved in captive breeding and husbandry.
  • Construction of captive breeding and headstarting facility.
  • Continued support for youth activities in regions where projects are centrally located.
The IRCF's conservation efforts depend on your tax-deductible donations. For many species, time is running out. Although the IRCF has been effective in stretching donation dollars, many critical needs remain to be addressed in order to ensure a future for reptiles on the brink of extinction.
