A hands-on experience working with the most endangered iguana on Earth. |
The Blue Iguana Captive Breeding and Headstart Facility is located in the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park (shown above). The facility manages the captive breeding stock and their offspring. Juveniles and hatchlings are raised in cages until they reach the age of two years old before they are released into the wild.
Team Blue Facility Volunteers help provide daily care for the resident Blue Iguanas by collecting their diet of wild plants, flowers, and fruit from around the island, maintaining their cages and pens, and performing other duties around the facility. Details Here |
