Images for the Website Galleries

If you have images or videos that you would like to share with us and IRCF website viewers- please send them in!

The following criteria should be used as a guide to help you select items for submission:
IRCF Website Image Gallery - general area – no project specific requirements

  • Subject-Animals: Reptiles or Amphibians
  • Subject-Habitat: Examples of  habitat, destroyed, flourishing, restored, pristine, etc.
  • Subject-Conservation: Field researchers, endemic flora landscaping, etc.

Project Specific Image Gallery – if you have previously visited the area of one of our projects and want to share your photos, we would be delighted to include them. Here are some ideas for submission entries:

  • Subject-Animals: In the wild, at a breeding station, at a reserve
  • Subject-Habitat: Historical images, Current images, Land use transition images, etc.
  • Subject-Conservation: Breeding facility, land restoration, land destruction, threats, etc.

Image Requirements:

Images for the website galleries may be submitted via the IRCF Upload Center. Information must be provided for photographer credit. We must have permission from the photographer to use the image. If you are submitting more than one image, please list information in a separate text or Word.doc file and upload with images.

Movies and Podcasts

If you have videos, movies, or podcasts that you would like to share, please let us know. We can accept a variety of video formats including FLV, SWF, MP3, AVI, MOV, ASF, MPEG, and WMV. We typically will convert these files to a SWF file to utilize our player.

We can also load YouTube Videos. We simply need the YouTube URL. Submit video files via the IRCF Upload Center. Information must be provided for video credit. We must have permission to use the video. If you are submitting more than one video, please list information in a separate text or Word.doc file and upload with videos.

Journal Submissions

Article and Text Submissions

The editors encourage contributions (articles, travelogues, etc.) from readers. Subjects can include any aspect of amphibian or reptilian biology, but articles dealing with conservation and natural history will be given the highest priority. Articles addressing the husbandry of amphibians or reptiles should include information on populations in nature and emphasize responsible and legal acquisition and care. For consideration, please send electronic copy (preferable Microsoft Word files) to AJ Gutman If accepted, the author(s) will be notified and supplementary materials (e.g., photographs) will be solicited.

Photograph and Graphic Image Submissions

The editors encourage contribution of images from readers for possible publishing in Reptiles & Amphibians. Subjects can include any aspect of amphibian or reptilian biology, conservation and natural history. We are accepting images for the covers (front and back) and inside pages. Cover photos must be a minimum size of 9″x12″ with a minimum resolution of 300ppi. Please remember the location and size of the Journal Masthead prior to selecting images for submission.

For consideration, please send a sample image (preferable jpg files) to John Binns or uploaded via the Upload Center. If accepted, the photographer(s) will be notified and “original, un-retouched” files (e.g., raw, etc.) will be solicited.
