Volunteers Wanted

We are looking for people who are in a position to commit to taking on all or part of any of these tasks on an ongoing basis. This page will be updated to reflect the organization’s most current needs. Below are some “volunteer job descriptions” which we hope can be filled by regular volunteers.

Assistant Editors

ircf.orgResponsible for the solicitation and acquisition of suitable content for REPTILES & AMPHIBIANS. This person should have a command of language so that she/he can effectively edit submitted content. If appropriate, the person may focus on a particular topic (e.g., amphibian conservation or natural history of African lizards). For more information, please contact Bob Powell.

Assistant Graphics Editors

ircf.orgResponsible for identifying sources of images suitable for publication in REPTILES & AMPHIBIANS. This person should be capable of extensive Web searches and able to communicate effectively with individuals, agencies, and institutions when soliciting permission to publish original or previously published images. A familiarity with graphics software is not essential but very helpful. For more information, please contact John Binns.

Membership Coordinator: Herp Society / Institutions

ircf.orgResponsible for identifying sources to increase membership. Possible areas would include herpetological societies, schools, institutions, etc. This person should be capable of web searches and be able to communicate effectively with individuals and institutions when soliciting membership. Membership Coordinators: Social Networking

ircf.orgResponsible for identifying sources to increase membership. Possible areas would include trade shows, forums, bulletin boards, blog sites, facebook, myspace, twitter, etc. This person should be capable of Web searches and be able to communicate effectively with individuals and be comfortable with the “social networking” experience when soliciting membership.
